Ayan K. Jacobs is a recent addition to the Sanders Roberts’ labor and employment team. Her experiences span most areas of the litigation process including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, and drafting jury instructions and other trial preparation documents.
Ayan obtained her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and her juris doctorate from the UCLA School of Law, where she specialized in critical race studies and completed the David. J. Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. In law school, she served as the Associate Editor of the National Black Law Journal and the Chief Managing Editor of the National Black Law Journal. Ayan’s law school clinical efforts focused on racial justice, human rights, and government misconduct litigation. Ayan is passionate about social justice issues and is committed to integrating these ideals into both her legal practice and involvement in the community. It is Ayan’s prior experience as a community development advocate that gives her an edge over many other lawyers. Ayan first worked in the area of grassroots community outreach for the Cornell University Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives. Her experiences before law school give her a unique social perceptiveness and a valuable insight into establishing cooperative working relationships. Ayan’s unique enables her to offer a blend of legal experience and sociological strategy to maximize mediation or litigation outcomes. Ayan is licensed to practice in California and Arizona.
