Farinaz Cohen received her J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2008, and her B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. Her career has been devoted to representing clients in individual and class action employment law cases.She specializes in all aspects of labor and employment law, including cases involving wage and hour litigation, independent contractor status, wrongful discharge litigation, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, employee handbooks, and consulting on personnel practices. Her experience covers all phases of litigation practice, including extensive law-and-motion work and discovery, and seminars such as sexual harassment prevention training. Ms. Cohen’s current and past clients include, among others, several multi-store franchisees of regional and national restaurant and fast food brands, a nationally recognized film institute, and a nationally recognized shoe brand.
Ms. Cohen has been selected to the 2017 Super Lawyers Southern California Rising Stars list, an honor received by only 2.5% of attorneys in Southern California. She is admitted to practice law in California, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She also represents clients in administrative agencies, including the DLSE (Labor Commissioner), EEOC, Unemployment Hearings at CUIAB, and Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) (with respect to Labor Code 132a claims).
