Justin founded Sanders Roberts LLP in 2008. Since that time, Justin’s practice has focused on commercial litigation, criminal defense and the defense of professional licenses.
Justin Sanders is a partner in Sanders Roberts LLP. Justin’s practice focuses on business litigation, criminal defense and the defense of professional licensing matters.
Justin began his legal career at the Los Angeles office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP.  At Sheppard Mullin, Justin represented various business clients in commercial litigation and criminal matters.  After three years at Sheppard Mullin, Justin was recruited to government service by then Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky J. Delgadillo. In addition to serving as a chief aide to the City Attorney, Justin managed the City’s relationship with private law firms – upgrading services, cutting costs, regaining control over a $37 million yearly budget and restoring the trust and confidence of the public, the City Council and the Mayor.
Justin returned to the private sector a few years later, serving as a Senior Associate at the Los Angeles office of Sidley Austin LLP, an international, full-service law firm.  At Sidley, Justin’s practice focused on commercial litigation and business crimes.  Justin also represented Willie Earl Scott, an inmate on Alabama’s Death Row.
Justin represents businesses and individuals in civil litigation involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, negligent misrepresentation, fraud and other matters.  Justin is known as a forceful trial lawyer and deposition taker.  Justin’s clients include Ford Motor Co., Toyota Motor Co., the City of Compton and the Rising Realty Group.
Medical Licensing
In 2010, Justin successfully represented the first Latina neurosurgeon in the history of the State of California in a licensing case before the Court of Appeal for the State of California.   (See Marquez v. Medical Board of California, 182 Cal.App.4th 548).  Justin has represented numerous other physicians before the Medical Board of California in licensing matters.  Justin also has represented nurses and acupuncturists before the California Board of Registered Nursing and the California Acupuncture Board.
Personal Life and Educational Background
Justin graduated from Morehouse College with a degree in political science (Magna Cum Laude/Phi Beta Kappa). Justin graduated from the University of Southern California Law School in 2000, winning the prestigious Crispus Wright Scholarship and the Steven B. Sample Presidential Fellowship. Justin was admitted to the Bar in 2000. Justin is a member of the Board of Directors of the USC Gould School of Law Alumni Association and the Watts Learning Center Board of Directors. Justin also is a member of the prestigious California Club. Justin also has served as guest commentator on NBC.
