John T. Madden earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, where he was a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. Mr. Madden graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. During law school, Mr. Madden was a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Sheri Bluebond, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.
 

At Lafayette & Kumagai, Mr. Madden’s practice includes civil defense litigation, with an emphasis on employment and business litigation matters. He handles all aspects of employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. Mr. Madden has experience handling commercial litigation, including business and corporate disputes, business tort actions, and real property matters. In addition, he has experience representing banks and lenders in all phases of litigation arising from origination, servicing and foreclosure of secured instruments in state and federal courts

 

Prior to joining Lafayette & Kumagai LLP, Mr. Madden was an Attorney at Bryan Cave in Irvine, California and a Senior Associate at Klinedinst PC in Sacramento and at Gurnee Mason Rushford Bonotto & Forestiere LLP in Roseville, California.


Mr. Madden is admitted to practice before all courts of the States of California and Oregon, the United States District Court for the Northern, Central and Eastern Districts of California, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. In addition, Mr. Madden is admitted to practice before all courts of the state of Idaho and before the United States District Court for the District of Idaho.
