In over two decades of practice, E. Todd Trumper has successfully represented businesses and
management in labor and complex employment matters in state and federal courts and the California
Labor Commissioner. He has prevailed in numerous discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and
wrongful discharge claims at the trial and appellate court level and defeated state and federal wage and
hour class actions on behalf of employers. Mr. Trumper also advises businesses on policy, non-compete
clauses, employment best practices, investigations, and alternative dispute resolution.
In addition to labor and employment, Mr. Trumper’s practice has included litigating intellectual property
rights, entertainment law, agency, and representing the interests of actors and musicians in actions
involving breach of contract, licensing and royalty disputes, copyright, and protecting against the
unauthorized use of their names and likeness. He has also defended Fortune 500 companies in multi-
district litigation (MDL) involving exclusive dealing arrangements, tying and bundling agreements, and
restraint of trade allegations.
Mr. Trumper has won trials as first chair and second chair and taken and defended hundreds of
depositions throughout the U.S. He is an active member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers (LA
Chapter) and the Labor & Employment and Entertainment & Intellectual Property Law sections of the
Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mr. Trumper graduated from the University of San Diego School of
Law where he was Executive Editor of the San Diego Law Review.
