SANDERS ROBERTS LLP TRIAL TEAM WINS DEFENSE VERDICT

Sanders Roberts LLP recently won a jury trial, securing a defense verdict on behalf of one of its clients, an educational institution. The SR trial team, led by attorney Todd Trumper, with support by attorney Reggie Roberts Jr., and paralegal Gloria Estrada, defended its client against claims brought under the Fair Chance Act. The employee plaintiff, who had criminal convictions, alleged that the client did not follow the requirements of the Act when deciding not to hire the plaintiff for a position working on its campus. Plaintiff’s settlement demand was for more than $2,000,000. The SR trial team convinced the jury that the client made its hiring decisions based on legitimate reasons.
